meet SHAD

Rashad McGee was born in Charlotte NC in 1983 and grew up in Mineral Springs/Waxhaw, NC.  He graduated from Parkwood High School in 2001 located in Monroe, NC.  While a student athlete at Parkwood he was a two- time all conference performer in track, football, and basketball.  He also took the award for conference player of the year in football and basketball as a senior. 

 

Rashad received a B.S. degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Recreation from Winston Salem State University in Winston-Salem, NC.  Immediately he was a starter on the men’s basketball team from 2002-2005. While playing for WSSU he was captain of his team, and received the Coach’s Award as a senior. He has served as a student assistant at Winston Salem State under Coach Phil Stitt.

 

 

After graduating from WSSU, Rashad went on to play professionally in several leagues, which included Premier Basketball League (PBL), American Basketball Association (ABA), World Basketball Association (WBA). Most recently he played on a professional show basketball team (Harlem Ambassadors) that traveled around the country giving him insight and cultural exposure including traveling to the country of Japan.

 

He has shared his talents and skills by working several basketball camps including High Point University Team Camps, Rusty Larue Basketball Academy, and Bobby Collins Skills Camp.

 

He has also coached AAU teams with the Carolina Phenoms, Chris Paul All- Stars and was the Head JV Boys/ Varsity Asst. Coach at Rocky River High School in Charlotte, NC. Rashad started his journey with LAABWORK almost a decade ago as a client and loved it so much that he became  Lead Instructor for LAAB Work after completing his professional basketball career.
